& GIVE BACK
The pandemic continues. The growing hunger crisis is expected to claim more deaths than COVID.
In the Philippines, 1 in 5 are now experiencing hunger. ARK is fighting this with Feed Back, a vegetable exchange program. Launched in June, Feed Back enables communities to secure their food in just 5 weeks.
Farmers who only farmed rice or corn and fisherfolks who were solely dependent on the sea now have gardens that can supply to their families and neighbors all types of vegetables for life.

HERE'S HOW YOU ARE
ARK partners with rural communities who want to secure their food, kids' schooling and a self-sustaining future.
When the pandemic hit, countries like the Philippines had one solution: a lockdown. Farmers - who feed us the food we cannot live without - lost their jobs, income, and access to food that led to hunger, and their existing hardships became more severe.
To solve this and WITH its partner communities, ARK created Feed Back, an 8-week vegetable basket program that gifts fresh vegetables to families at risk of hunger. Each weekly basket provide a family of 4 at least 3-4 meals.
Here’s the catch. The program buys 100% of the vegetables from participating families. By creating a market for vegetables, the farmers and fisherfolks created gardens in their backyards. This gave the family food. The excess they sold to the program.
The impact has been incredible. Communities like Traciano are obliterating hunger in just 5 weeks! Fishing communities like Bogtong and Borac are proving that fisherfolks can farm! Families now have food with many having supply beyond 2020 which they sell to each other and to nearby villages and towns. They are healthy, secure and happy.
